Commitment to Inclusion and Equality in Play

At Psagot Playgrounds, we strive to create accessible play environments that allow all children, regardless of their physical or mental abilities, to enjoy a rich, safe, and enjoyable play experience. We understand the diverse needs of children and their families and are committed to offering a wide range of accessible solutions.

Our Accessibility Principles

We believe that every child and their companion should enjoy an equal and fulfilling play experience. Therefore, we design our playground equipment with a special focus on accessibility and inclusion.

Accessibility Features in Our Play Equipment

  • Wheelchair-Accessible Bridges: We incorporate accessible bridges and ramps that allow children using wheelchairs to reach all parts of the playground and actively participate in play.

  • Sensory and Developmental Play Panels: Our play equipment includes sensory panels that encourage children to use their various senses, as well as games tailored for children with special needs.

  • Color Adaptations and Braille: We incorporate Braille into our equipment and allow customers to choose color combinations according to their various accessibility needs.

  • Integrated Play Areas: We create play areas where children of all abilities can play together, promoting inclusion and cooperation.

The Big Accessibility Survey – Listening to Those Who Need It

We conducted a comprehensive survey on the usability and importance of accessible elements in playgrounds. Here’s a glimpse of the responses we received:

  • "A child with a disability who can reach the highest level in the park like any other child - that is a feeling of victory and equality."
Rachel, 20 years old, living with lower body paralysis and sister to a special needs child who also uses a wheelchair

  • "It's important to us that siblings play together. It’s essential that things are accessible to both."
Abigail, mother of a child with autism and additional children without disabilities

  • "Including children with special needs in playgrounds with other children simply allows them to be there with a lot of patience and love."
Ella, Assistive Technology Teacher for Children with Physical Disabilities

  • "I see a sense of belonging when the playground is accessible to those with disabilities, so my son feels like he is part of all the children playing there."
Father of a child with a disability

  • "My dream is to have accessible playgrounds where a parent can take their child."
    Michal, wheelchair user

  • "Children with hearing impairments feel vibrations, and experiencing this through self-exploration is very significant."
    Esther, Occupational Therapist
  • "The fact that the playground is adapted for wheelchairs is very significant. Children who need to work through all their senses can benefit from it."
Kindergarten teacher, special education professional, and mother of a child with a disability

  • "Inclusion gives a sense of belonging and not being different, when everyone goes up to the playground together, rather than having something separate and special."
    Esther, Occupational Therapist

  • "Including children should be taken for granted. Everyone can learn from each other."
Rachel, 20 years old, living with lower body paralysis and sister to a special needs child who also uses a wheelchair

Supporting Caregivers and Visitors

We understand that caregivers, whether parents, siblings, or therapists, need an accessible and comfortable environment. Our playgrounds are designed to provide convenient access for all users, including caregivers with special needs. Additionally, children without special needs can gain valuable experiences from playing with children with disabilities, fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.

The Benefits of Accessibility in Play

Accessible play environments allow all children, regardless of their abilities, to participate and enjoy play activities.

Playing together with children of all abilities encourages the development of social and emotional skills, a sense of belonging, and mutual understanding.

Children using accessible equipment feel more confident and develop a sense of capability and achievement.

Visitors to the playground benefit from the shared experience and the development of social skills through play with children with special needs.

Our Commitment to Ongoing Development and Inclusion

At Psagot Playgrounds, we continue to improve and develop our equipment to ensure they are as accessible as possible for all children and their families. We are committed to listening to the needs and demands of different communities and acting accordingly to create equal, enjoyable, and enriching play environments for everyone.

If you have any further questions or if you would like to learn more about the accessibility of our playground equipment, we would be delighted to hear from you.
