In this project, we made after-dark use a natural part of the experience: a combined play structure with integrated LED lighting built directly into the equipment. The idea is simple - not to depend on street lighting, but to let the structure itself bring the space to life. The Integrated Lighting System: Precise Planning and Light as Part of the Experience

In many public spaces, the evening hours are the real moment of truth for a playground. In this project, we created a compact, thoughtfully planned space designed to perform beautifully after dark. At its center is a combined play structure with integrated LED lighting built directly into the equipment, so the light is not added from the outside, it is part of the design.

From the earliest planning stage, lighting was developed as an integral layer of the playground’s overall language: carefully selected lighting points, features highlighted with intention, and a consistent evening look that adds depth and presence in the public realm. The goal was to create an inviting after-dark atmosphere without making the playground feel loud or overdone, and without relying only on general street lighting.

This proprietary innovation from Psagot Playgrounds makes evening hours a natural part of the experience and creates a space that feels active, comfortable, and connected to its surroundings at any time of day.

Evening Experience, Operational Flexibility, and Event Ready Lighting

The lighting was designed around three clear principles:

A pleasant evening experience - a playground that still feels lively, welcoming, and present as daylight fades.
Operational flexibility - a structured solution that can align with site infrastructure and daily operating needs.
Added visibility and atmosphere in the public realm, without making the playground feel loud or overdone.

The result is a refined after-dark look - a subtle, well-balanced layer of light that feels just right.

Planning Phase: Integrating LED Lighting as Part of the Structure

To ensure the light works in harmony with both play value and design, it was planned together with the structure, not added afterward. During planning, lighting points were selected, the elements to be emphasized were defined, and an evening look was shaped to feel natural within the space. The solution also supports infrastructure flexibility - connection to site power or an independent LED system, depending on site conditions and urban planning requirements.

Design: Light That Highlights Lines, Panels, and Signature Details

Our lighting does more than illuminate - it tells a story. It emphasizes the structure’s lines, brings panels to life, lights roofs and decorative features, and adds a sense of depth you feel the moment you enter the playground. The magic is in the integration: light that respects the design rather than taking it over, delivered in the exact dose that feels both festive and calm, creating a unique and pleasant after-dark experience.
